ROCHESTER, NY - PLUMBERS AND PIPEFITTERS - UA LOCAL 13

Whether you’re just starting out as a plumber / pipefitter, or you’ve already logged in years of long hours and hard work, the Local 13 Training Program helps advance you in a successful career. As technology, equipment and codes continue to change, you need to keep up with the safest and most up-to-date procedures on the job. The JATC has a qualified staff of journeymen instructors to help you get the job done effectively and efficiently!

Anyone over the age of 18, with a high school diploma or equivalent, has the opportunity to enroll in the JATC five-year apprentice training program. As part of this program, apprentice plumbers, pipefitters and service technicians are paid to work while receiving on-the-job training and attending classes two nights a week. The program is designed to provide apprentices with the knowledge and experience they need to succeed on-the-job and to promote quality within the unionized piping industry.

For Local 13 members who want to keep up to date on the latest materials, methods, products and codes, the JATC offers a variety of advanced journeymen training courses. To accommodate the members’ work schedule, classes are offered in the evening at our state-of-the-art facilities at 1850 Mt. Read Boulevard.

Under the direction of UA Certified Instructors, the advanced training programs address subjects such as Hydronic Heating & Cooling, OSHA Safety, welding, service plumbing, code and theory, drafting, plan reading, computer drafting, first-aid and CPR. And, as the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry continues to change, the JATC will continue to respond with additional courses to address future demands of the industry.
